At the end of the day, a tattoo machine is nothing more than an electric paintbrush. That is why for this workshop you will have the option to tattoo your drawings on paper by using a wireless tattoo machine with a ballpoint pen cartridge attachment that replaces the regular tattoo needle with a safe, dull and paper friendly alternative. Since the process does not require any hygiene knowledge or prior tattooing experience, it’s perfect for practicing lining and whip shading as well as the correlation between hand speed and machine voltage. Don’t worry, you can use regular pencils, pens and markers to draw too – we will make sure to provide them for you.
Afterwards, you will get to choose your adventure – you can make 1-color or 2-color risograph prints or stickers out of your artwork! You will get to take multiple copies home, some of which could perhaps turn into thoughtful handmade gifts for your friends and family.
This hands-on workshop is designed by Berlin based tattoo artist Emilia Moise for anyone interested in drawing, tattooing and riso printing.
